This constituency covers an approximate area of 7.25 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 18°57'41.0"N 72°48'27.7"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Malabar Hill constituency, which are: Colaba, Mumba Devi, Byculla, Worli. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mangal Prabhat Lodha of BJP won in this constituency beating Heera Navaji Devasi of INC by a margin of 71,813 votes which was 58.25% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Mangal Prabhat Lodha of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Arvind (Arun) Devji Dudhwadkar of SS by a margin of 68,686 votes which was 47.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mangal Prabhat Lodha of BJP won this seat defeating Bafna Rajkumar Sumermal of INC by a margin of 24,559 votes which was 20.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
