In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Vishwanath Ram of INC won in this constituency beating Santosh Kumar Nirala of JDU by a margin of 21204 votes which was 11.49% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Santosh Kumar Nirala of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Bishawnath Ram of BJP by a margin of 32788 votes which was 18.68% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Santosh Kumar Nirala of JDU won this seat defeating Chhedi Lal Ram of LJP by a margin of 15239 votes which was 11.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
